PROUD SPONSORS of The East Anglian Premier Cricket League
The East Anglian Premier League is the top level of competition for recreational club cricket in East Anglia covering Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and North Essex. The League was formed in 1999 to provide a pathway for young players into the First Class game and over the past 15 years, more than a dozen players have made the step up, including former England captain Alistair Cook. There are now over 20 Premier Leagues nationally and the EAPL is considered to be one of the five “Elite Premier Leagues”.
Read Brothers Directors Steve and Brian Read both played at the top level of Norfolk Club cricket, initially with Vauxhall Mallards before moving to Horsford where Steve went on to become first team Captain and eventually Club Chairman.
Steve was Managing Director for 35 years before he sadly died in 2016 since then Brian has assumed the role and says ''When the opportunity of sponsoring the EAPL arose my first thoughts were of Steve and I knew that he would have jumped at the chance so it was a very easy decision for me. We are honoured to be associated with such a fantastic and prestigious competition and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”
