I am proud to have started Read Brothers Ltd with my Brothers Steve, Jon, Glenn and Mother Betty in 1981.
The family business has gone from strength to strength. We have expanded the site several times as well as our product base.
I enjoy overseeing the whole business but also still like to have a regular day out, seeing customers and measuring up for Easi Joists and Roof Trusses.
I am a keen sportsman, having played Golf, Cricket and Football all my life. Playing in a band is also a passion of mine.
Read Brothers Ltd has always been part of my life, even as a child, when I’d come into work with my Father on a Saturday morning.
I officially started working for the family business in 1994, where I quickly completed a TRADA Institute of Wood Science and Visual Strength Grading Course. This together with in-house Truss training, gave me a good foundation of knowledge.
As well as designing Roof Trusses, I enjoy my role as Quality Manager, complying with quality control requirements such as CE marking.
I am married with two children and I spend most Saturdays playing Hockey for Norwich Exiles. I also enjoy Skiing and Après Ski.

Years ago, I was the one operating the band saws and loading the lorries. Now I enjoy being in control of operations. There are so many factors which need to be brought together to enable Read Brothers Ltd to run smoothly.
I used to play a lot of Football and still play Golf now and again. Like Brian, I enjoy getting up on stage from time to time.
As the daughter of Brian Read, I proudly joined the family business in May 2013 and trained as a Truss designer.
When I am not at my desk at Read Brothers, I am usually somewhere with fantastic food and superb wine….. and if this combination is up the mountain in the French Alps while skiing, I am even more content!
I joined Read Brothers Ltd in 2007. I very much enjoy my role as a Roof Truss designer and split my time mainly between design work in the office and visiting customers to carry out site surveys.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching Football and I am also a keen Runner. I have ran the London Marathon on four occasions.
I design Trusses and Easi Joists using the Wolf System program. I also make site visits on a weekly basis to liaise with customers to ensure they get the best products and designs for their job.
I have worked for Read Brothers Ltd since January 2011 and before that, had worked for 10 years in the Construction Industry.
Proud to have joined the Read Brothers Ltd team in 2011. When I’m not working, designing Easi Joist Floors and Roof Trusses, this Virgo man likes to play Hockey for the mighty Norwich Exiles as their goalkeeper.
Playing the odd computer game doesn’t go amiss either.
As the son of Brian read, I proudly joined the family business in 2017. I am a truss designer and also have truss and Easi Joist factory experience.
I am a very keen sportsman and play as much as I can, including Football and Golf, however my passion is Cricket. I play for Horsford Cricket Club and occasionally Norfolk County Cricket Club.
Playing in a band with Brian is also a hobby which I enjoy.
I’ve worked for Read Brothers for over 15 years. I started designing roof trusses from the time I joined the company and was involved when we very first moved into designing and manufacturing the Easi Joist system that has since become very popular. In that time my brother Sam has joined Read Brothers too. I’ve been married to Rhianna since 2013 and like everyone, we really enjoy spending time with family and friends as much as possible.
I am the newest recruit to the Read Brothers Ltd Team in 2017. I am an Easi Joist estimator and designer with previous experience within the Industry.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the Theatre / Cinema and taking part in sports activities such as Boxing and Running.
My family is my world. I have two kids and a lovely wife.
Worked for Read Brothers Ltd since 2014 in the Timber Sales Team, a role that is very important within the Company.
This involves the purchase and selling of Timber, serving and advising customers here at the depot and over the phone and assisting the Truss Department with logistics.
Satisfying our customers need is what I do best.
I have a lovely Wife and 2 Children, both Boys. They take up most of my time and money, which is okay with me. I also enjoy Climbing at the local Indoor Climbing Centre.
I started with Read Brothers Ltd in September 2016 in the Timber Sales Department. This has been a complete career change for me with lots to learn. I have come from another family business, so understand the importance of looking after our customers.
I have a fiancé and two children, who take up most of my time with Football and Ballet. I enjoy playing football and like to travel to Portugal where my fiancé is from.
Having over 20 years of experience working in Accountancy and Tax practice in Norfolk, I am proud to have had the opportunity to make the leap into industry by joining Read Brothers in their accounts and administration role. As the wife of Matthew Read, the Company, his family and his colleagues have been part of my life for a long time. The work is varied and it is great to have a new challenge.
Outside of work, my time is taken up by our two children and I am hoping my new role will mean that I have the time to take up running again!
